LINKS TO WASHTENAW COUNTY CLIENT ASSISTANCE RESOURCES

Since many potential clients face problems requiring the assistance of an attorney and/or another third party, there are ways to find such assistance. The first place to start is by calling the 211 assistance number (or 844-875-9211) or text your zip code to 898211 to learn more about services available in your area. This is probably also the right time to contact the Washtenaw County Department of Health and Human Services, as simply getting something like am income-based Bridge Card from them can pre-qualify you for many other social services. The Washtenaw County Department of Health and Human Services can be reached by following this link:

For those who cannot manage the process online or by phone, paperwork can be obtained and submitted to the DHHS county office at 22 Center Street, Ypsilanti, MI 48198, dial (734) 481-2000. Hours for drop-off: 8-5 and the Drop box is right inside first door.

If you have any difficulties accessing social services, you are urged to contact your local state representative’s or senator’s office and ask for someone from “Constituent Services”. Their job is to listen to your problems and assist you in navigating the various social services systems. They cannot improve these systems without your feedback, which is why they are glad to hear from you and offer help. To find out who your representative or senator is to call, go to this link:
